Tom Lavender

I grew up on a cotton/cattle farm in Boligee, Alabama, and attended Marion Military Institute and the University of Alabama.

After college, I farmed and ran a hunting guide service on our land.

I later became a commodity broker and stockbroker, working in Houston, Memphis, and Columbus, Mississippi.  Since moving to Tuscaloosa in 1991, I have managed farmland as well as advising various catfish farms, tree farms, and conservation easements, earning my real estate license in 1992.  I am married with one married son and two grandchildren.  Two interesting facts about our place are that the number one nontypical deer in Alabama was killed here, and it’s home to the oldest shumard oak in the United States.
